Internet Access III - Complete

I've been on line, all the time, at high speed since last Friday, and I'm lovin' it. I got a three-month special from Comcast, $22 a month, when the price then goes to $45. I've gotten a lot of work done that was not getting done very efficiently the old way.

I was supposed to get installed on Thursday afternoon between 3 and 5 PM, but the installer didn't show up. I got a call from Comcast dispatch just before 5, asking if the installer had arrived. The dispatcher told me that they had lost track of him and that he may have taken ill. Yeah, right. I found out the next day that he is a contractor to Comcast, and that he has a reputation for taking on more work than he can handle and not finishing it all. Just my luck. When I called Comcast Friday morning to complain, dispatch told me that they were very sorry, but the installer became severely sick and had to knock off early. They also told me that they didn't have anyone who could come that day, and would try to get to me as soon as possible the following week. I convinced them that they owed me an install right away, so they sent one of their own service techs, someone who just happened to be a neighbor here in Bahama Village, although I didn't know him. He's the one who gave me the straight scoop on what happened on Thursday.

Despite that, I'm quite happy with the performance of the Comcast service, as I was with it in New Hampshire while we were back there.
