Our First Key West Party

Well, the first since coming back into town in May. We were invited to the home of one of Janet's co-workers, Roger, last night and it quickly turned into a very good time. We arrived at about 7:30 and left at midnight, a little worse for the wear. Janet is working today, otherwise we might have stayed a little longer since there were several people still there, most of them lounging in the pool.

I was meeting some of the guests for the first time, and getting to know some I had met a little better. Janet had a ball, so did I.

Roger and his partner Robert are renting a very cute little conch house on Virginia St., up near Bayside Park. There was food and libations enough for all. Robert made a delicious pan of lasagna and a friend of his served up a huge pan of macaroni salad. There were some delicious spicy ribs and lots of chicken wings, and a nice selection of desserts.

All of the Butterfly Conservatory employees I have met are nice folks, friendly, easy to talk to, and interesting. There was talk of more such gatherings to come, not including the traditional annual holiday party put on by the company itself.

We're looking forward to them.
