There are four cruise ships in port today. This is a file photo I took at Mallory Square a while ago on a day when two of the larger ships were moored at the Mallory Square (fore) and Hilton (aft) Piers.
The Resident/Visitor Planning Committee is addressing the positive and negative impacts that this type of tourism has on Key West. Their report is due out soon.
A four-ship day like today puts thousands of people on the the streets, the trolleys, and the tour train. That many people obviously bring a lot of money to the merchants of the city.
