More on Watermark

This long piece appeared in Solares Hill soon after the Historical Architecture Review Committee approved the design of the Watermark development. It provides the background to the Planning Board non-decision. The writer, Mark Howell, generally succeeds in giving some color to the news. What he does is reporting, but it's usually not difficult to know how he feels personally about the issue he's reporting.

Someone at the Planning Board meeting -- it might have been Bob Goldman -- suggested that the Board had the option of returning the Watermark plan to the Historical Architecture Review Committee (HARC) for reconsideration. Jim Hendrick, of course dismissed that as a possibility. In that, he seemed to have the concurrence of City Attorney Bob Tischinkel. The Planning Board members did not give the idea any consideration in the deliberations that followed.
