Heading Home

I'm at the Albuquerque Airport, waiting to board the first of three flights that will get me back to Key West at about 10 PM this evening. Had a great visit with Mom, daughter Susan, and brother Jack and his family. It'll take me a day or two to get back into the groove at home, but I hope to begin steady blogging by the weekend. Thanks for your patience.

Here are a few observations about Albuquerque to fill up some space:

- The city itself is at an altitude of about 5,000 feet. Jack and Robin's home is 2,000 feet above that, in the shadow of the Sandia Mountains, which rise another 3,000 feet behind them.

- Night temperatures have been in the 30's, but the "cold" feels different here because of the dry air.

- There are Indian Casinos in New Mexico. One is about four miles from Jack's house. We went three times and only lost a little $$.

- Visited Santa Fe with Mom. It's a tourist town, too. I saw several middle eastern shopkeepers (Israelis?) standing outside a clothing shop. It reminded me of KW, though I didn't see T-Shirt shops a la KW.

OK, gotta go check in through TSA security. Ciao.
