The Kid is back!

Little Boy Flowers returned to Schooner Wharf Bar tonight. He played with Caffeine Carl, Joe Pepper, and Richie Ciavolino, all local musicians. The gig was billed as being for Moose and the Bulletproof Blues Band, but Moose had car trouble and had not arrived by the beginning of the second set, when we left. Carl and Richie, who back Moose when he is in Key West, quickly recruited Joe Pepper to stand in on bass, and the foursome went to work.

What's important here is that this was Little Boy's first appearance at Schooner Wharf since he left the Unpaid Bar Tabs sometime in 2002. He played with them from early 1997 when he was just seven-and-a-half years old. LB is now 15, and he's not so "L" any more, taller than me and outweighing me by more than a few pounds. He's been playing some other gigs around town, recently at Captain Harvey's Runaground and at Harbor Lights, but the return to Schooner Wharf was an important step in his music career. The band is playing again tomorrow, Friday, and on Saturday with Moose stepping back into his usual bass player role, along with Caffeine Carl, Richie, and Little Boy.

Catch them if you can.
