Ya gotta admire this guy -- a little.

Former county attorney Jim Hendrick was arrested last week and indicted on charges of conspiracy to obstruct justice, obstruction of justice and witness tampering. Hendrick says he is "absolutely" not guilty and plans to fight the charges in court.

This week, Hendrick circulated the following account, which he titled "Jim's Jail & Bail Experience," about being arrested by federal agents.

From the Key West Citizen's intro to Jim Hendricks' own account of his "jail and bail" experience this week.

This is a guy who is clearly in control of himself, a striver and an achiever, one might even suspect a workaholic. Maybe he did the things the government alleges, maybe he didn't.

Note the conclusion of Mark Howell's article, Hendrick at the Bar, in Solares Hill yesterday: "Did he, we asked him, have a family motto or perhaps some personal belief system that got him through the tribulations of time?

"Not a family motto, no," he replied, as Caroline Street Partner Ralph Sanchez bore down upon us.

"But I do adhere to the precepts --" he added, before being swept away, "-- of Buddhism."
