A Trip to Sugarloaf Key

I drove to Sugarloaf Key yesterday to install a Mac Mini for "Martha". Her older PC, which I had worked on before, finally gave up the ghost (actually, the power supply). She planned to use the display, keyboard, mouse and printer with the Mac Mini, but when we found out that she needed a keyboard adapter and a USB expander, and would have to travel to Key West to get them, she decided to bite the bullet and also replace the CRT display with a flat panel LCD display. We drove to Key West and bought what she needed at Radio Shack and OfficeMax. After getting back, I finished up the install, gave Martha some basic instructions, and told her to spend a few days getting comfortable with the new style of computing.

Setting up a Mac Mini is a remarkable simple matter. Unplug the old PC, plug everything left over into the Mini, fire it up, and off you go. There's even a way to transfer data from the old machine to the new one.

I'm thinking of limiting my computer work to Macs, and people switching to Macs. It would make my life easier and more pleasant.
