I logged in to the Key West Citizen at 1:30 AM today and was shaken to read that good friend and City Commissioner Clayton Lopez was taken to the Lower Keys Medical Center on Thursday evening with a possible heart attack. Later today I called his City Hall phone to hear the update that Clayton's assistant is recording to keep friends apprised of his condition. He's reported to be resting comfortably and in a good frame of mind. Current plans are to transport him to a Miami hospital on Monday for more tests.
Clayton is good man. He represents Commission District 6 comprised of Bahama Village and the southeast part of Old Town while holding down a full time job with the Florida Department of Health in Monroe County.
Please remember Clayton in your prayers or other emanations to your own higher power.
