Momma said ....

My Mom "corrected" me yesterday, in that gentle way she has. "Bobby", she said, "you have to start blogging again. People have been missing your blog." I know, Mom, I know. I'll try to do better in the future.

Just so you know, Mom is eighty-six this year and, thanks be to God, she's still in "good form", as they say in Ireland. She's preparing to move from Jupiter (the town in Florida, not the planet) to Albuquerque in mid-August. She's been in Jupiter the last twenty years or so. She and Dad moved there after the house in Massachusetts burned one winter while they were staying in Florida for their third winter. Dad passed on fifteen years ago, and Mom has lived most of that time in a lovely apartment in a seniors complex, drove herself everywhere, and has lots of fine friends.

Our brother Jack and his wife Robin have invited Mom to come and live with them. God bless you both. She likes New Mexico a lot, though I think the climate change might be a bit of a shock to her system at first. Our two sisters, and two of the five boys are coming together in Jupiter in early August to help her dispose of the things that she isn't taking with her.

So, here you go Mom. I'm back. I'll try to do better in the future.

As Buddy Hackett used to say: "I've been a ba-a-a-a-d boy!"
