Since its been a while, here's what's been going on.

Janet loves her job in the Gift Shop at the Butterfly Conservatory. She's off today and tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday, but she's working full-time now, five days a week.

I'm at the Coffee Plantation early today, hoping to get some real work done while Janet is shopping on Roosevelt Boulevard. I'm doing some computer work for a couple of businesses here, just a few hours worth, and I'm waiting to hear if I've been hired for a twenty-hour per week job that I applied for a couple of weeks ago. I'm also tutoring a friend, Little Boy Flowers, as he prepares to take the GED exam in about 18 months.

We went to Denny's for breakfast this morning at about six A.M. As we walked in the dark of that hour the two blocks to the restaurant, we talked about a series of muggings that have taken place here in the early morning hours. Brenda, our waitress at Denny's and neighbor in Bahama Village, told us that she's been having her husband take her in to work in the mornings. She used to walk the same two blocks as we took, but she's very wary of doing that at 5 A.M. since the muggings began. The morning manager at Denny's was one of the victims. He was pulled off his motor scooter at 9 P.M, breaking his leg, and losing a nice watch and his wallet to the muggers. The police don't appear to have any clues about who the perps might be.

It's been warm and pretty humid here but, hey, its summertime and were in the Tropics, so what did we expect?
