Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving

Citizen's Voice of the Day

"If you're fortunate enough to live on an island, you're fortunate enough."

"On a daily basis, I am grateful to be able to live in this funny little town, with its natural beauty, wonderful architecture, quirky and generous people, and plethora of art, theater and cuisine options. Having lived here for seven years, I have made many dear friends and found a perfect job at Fort Zach with most excellent co-workers. That's what I like about this island."

The Citizens' Voice today was all positive comments (intentionally). Our sentiments exactly.

We're leaving Key West today. We'll be far away (20 miles) from the hustle and bustle of our busy little island, enjoying a traditional Thanksgiving with Theo and Diane at their home on Sugarloaf Key, along with other of their friends from the Coffee Plantation. Dinner is at about 4 o'clock. When dinner is over, we get to come back home. I believe that this will be the furthest we've traveled from Key West since May 24th, the day we arrived back here.

We have much to be thankful for. Each other. Good health. Our beloved families and dear friends.

To all, our best wishes for a happy Thanksgiving Day.
